Tender description

The Defence General Munitions Project Team (DGM PT) currently manages a number of contracts with different providers, for manufacture and supply of the General Munitions portfolio. A key element of this portfolio is provided under the Munitions Acquisition Supply Solution (MASS) contract placed with BAE Systems Land (UK) in 2008, and which expires in 2022. As well as manufacture and supply this contract also includes the provision of capability for development and upgrade of products and through life safety management support. DE&S is reviewing options post expiry of this and considering if alternative procurement strategies could be used to deliver the portfolio, and in turn deliver the best value for money. The intention of this PIN is to advise the market that the DE&S is engaging with BAE Systems Land (UK) to develop a potential single source option, whilst concurrently investigating competition options under a separate work-stream. This PIN has been issued for the purpose of informing the market of the strategy. Please find below details of the Authority’s future General Munitions requirement in the "additional information" tab. In issuing this PIN, DE&S is not committing to carry out any procurement in relation to the requirements stated in this PIN.
