PHE_Scientific - Radio Frequency Exposure System

Tender description

Public Health England (PHE) has awarded a contract to IT'IS Foundation for a radio frequency exposure system for small laboratory animal. This must allow up to 24 animals to be simultaneously exposed to 3G mobile phone-like radio frequency fields at precise, controlled and repeatable doses. It must allow the animals to move freely without restraint, and to monitor environmental conditions during exposure. It is essential that the system is provided with detailed computational dosimetry to allow for accurate determination of whole-body and local exposures to all major organs. This system will provide increased capacity to assess the potential of environmental exposure to radio frequency fields to cause adverse effects which is currently being investigated within current and future projects.
