Tender description

The towns and villages within Dacorum are principally made up from a number of established residential neighbourhoods. These have been developed and added to over a number of years and in support of this regeneration and as part of its commitment to the health and wellbeing agenda, the Council have been refurbishing and replacing a number of the dated play areas within these neighbourhoods. The Council are now looking to refurbish the following play areas: Lot 1 — Peggy’s Field, Markyate Lot 2 — Cavendish Road, Markyate Lot 3 — Hollybush Lane Play Area, Flamsted Lot 4 — Tewin Road Play Area Lot 5 — Long Marston Each play area will be regarded as a separate lot and suppliers can bid for any number of individual lots up to all five of the play areas. Play area requirements: — Complete removal of all equipment including goal and basketball unit, — Minimum requirements — supply and install: —— Multi play unit including slide —— Toddler and standard swings —— Inclusive equipment with suitable access —— New Basketball/goal unit with all-weather sports surfacing —— Minimum 4 pieces of outdoor gym equipment —— Minimum 1 piece of equipment suitable 12 plus —— Provision for skateboarding —— Play equipment can be placed outside of fenced area —— Age range 0 to 16 years —— Post installation safety inspection — Budged 100k GBP — Access is limited so site inspection is advised. — Complete removal of all equipment, — Minimum requirements — Supply and install: —— Multi play unit including slide, —— Toddler and standard swings, —— Swing suitable for sharing/inclusive, —— Scooter play/track in additional fenced area next to play area, —— Inclusive equipment must include suitable access, —— Age range up to 8 years, —— Post installation safety inspection, — Budget 60k GBP. Site requirements: — Remove all equipment except Trim Trail and slide, — Install the following equipment: —— Standard and toddler swings, —— Inclusive/sharing swing, —— Play units suitable for all ages up to 16 years, —— Flamsted is a rural village with limited play facilities. It is vital the equipment provided suits all ages and provides challenges for children to be able to progress. — Post installation safety inspection, — Budget 60k GBP. Requirements: — Complete removal of playground including fencing and surfacing, — Install new play area, — Install the following equipment: —— Standard and toddler Swings, —— Climbing unit, — Age up to 8, — Post installation safety inspection, — Budget 30k GBP. Supply and install Concrete Skate ramp(s).
