Tender description
At present a requirement exists for the Supply of one MetOcean buoy platform for the Irish National Weather Buoy Network (INWBN). The Irish National Weather Buoy Network comprises 5 offshore buoys that gather real-time weather and oceanographic data from around the Irish coast. The network is funded by the Maritime Safety Division of the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport (DTTAS) and represents collaboration between the Marine Institute, Met Éireann and the United Kingdom Met Office (UKMO). In a rolling upgrade to the Network, the Marine Institute intends, subject to funding, to replace 1 platform as an existing system reaches end of life.
