The vision for Healthwatch Warrington is that it will act as a ‘watchdog’ and give residents and communities a strong voice to influence and challenge how health and social care services are provided locally. This means that Warrington’s local Healthwatch will be an independent champion for the public to promote better outcomes in health and social care for children, young people, and adults. It is the aim of Warrington Borough Council as the Commissioning Authority that locally local residents know of Healthwatch Warrington’s existence, what its role is and perceive it as a credible local organisation. Furthermore; ‘Healthwatch Warrington will give people opportunities to influence, shape, challenge and change health and social care services in Warrington by giving the community the chance to be heard, hold these services to account and make a positive difference’.
