Extended GP Hours - West London

NHS West London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) would like to invite expressions of interest from suitably experienced and qualified providers being interested and capable of delivering a "top up" GP service to enable the CCG to achieve the Extended Hours requirements being mandated and funded by NHS England (General Practice Forward View). The objectives of the Extended Hours Service are to extend WLCCG registered patient access to local GP services between 6.00pm to 9pm weekdays (3 hours), 8.00am to 8.00pm Saturdays and Sundays and 9.00am - 1.00pm Bank Holidays. The maximum budget available for this top-up service is approx £700,000 per year. This service must be delivered by a provider which includes all WL GP practices as members, ensuring equity of access and quality of service provision to the entire population group. The service needs to be delivered across 2 locations to serve a patient population of 246,000 patients, registered with 44 GP practices. Service provision is anticipated to commence April 2018 for a period of 12 months, with the CCG reserving the right to extend the contract for an additional year, subject to funding. Whilst the CCG has a range of existing General Practices capable of delivering this requirement through a federated GP solution within the financially challenged budget, the CCG recognises its obligation to ensure transparency and to explore the feasibility of alternative providers.
