Who Speclialist Work With A mixed team of civil servants and suppliers which will include Product Managers, Devops, data developers and testers. There will be close working with other data products teams and with partner teams on-boarding to the data platform. What Specialists Work On The specialist will work as tech lead with a product and programme team of civil servants and suppliers who are building a shared platform for storing the department’s data. The specialist will support the product team define the roadmap for the platform, advising on technical strategy, feasibility and complexity of approach. The specialist will also engage tech leads from digital service teams advising on best practice in use of the platform. Where the Work Takes Place Based in Croydon with some travel to headquarters in central London and occasionally to other Home Office locations where service teams are based. Early Market Engagement Working Arrangements The supplier is expected to supply a resource to work on site in Croydon within an agile team. We expect the supplier to be flexible. Off site and remote working can be accommodated, however due to security considerations this would need to be discussed. Work Location Based in Croydon with some travel to headquarters in central London and occasionally to other Home Office locations where service teams are based. Security Clearance All staff must be SC cleared. We will ask bidders for details of key personnel, if successful the bidder will be asked for confirmation of security clearance or we will initiate clearance process. Additional T&Cs Skills & Experience Experience of working as a tech lead in complex government projects 10% Experience of supporting multiple teams to adopt shared platforms. 20% Experience both influencing and supporting multiple teams to adopt technical standards. 20% Ability to operate as a tech lead – including setting direction and evaluating code quality, team tooling and test approach 10% Experience as a tech assessor for the Digital Service Standard (https://www.gov.uk/service-manual/service-standard) 10% Nice to Haves Experience of driving cultural change to support agile transformation towards genuine continuous delivery. No. of Specialists to Evaluate 3 Cultural Fit Criteria Customer focused: the data platform is a shared resource providing a service to other teams.
