Tender description

The framework agreement will consist of a wide range of products that are used to support the management of a patient’s temperature and the temperature of a patient’s blood and other fluids. The ranges of products available under the framework agreement include patient warming blankets and clothing, mattresses, warming cabinets, neonatal warming systems, blood and fluid warming control units and sets, patient cooling systems and associated products, patient circulatory temperature controlled water systems, reusable electric conductive patient warming systems, intravenous temperature management and temperature sensors. Precise quantities are unknown but it is currently anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of GBP 11 400 000 to GBP 24 600 000 in the first year of this framework agreement, with the estimated value over the total framework agreement term (including any extension options) being in the region of GBP 45 600 000 to GBP 98 400 000. Values are approximate only. Forced air warming blankets are intended to distribute warmed air over a patient. Product must offer adjustable warming capabilities for both pre and post-operative application to assist in maintaining normothermia. This Lot includes products intended for warming blood and fluids including, but not limited to. — Control Units (for high and low flow), — insulation covers, — pressurizers, — regulation boxes. Warming mattresses: positioned underneath a patient during a medical procedure to help maintain normothermia. Warming cabinets: used to warm blood, fluids and blankets before use. Paediatric/Neonatal warming systems specifically for children, infants and new-borns. Patient cooling: a range of systems and accessories intended to aid patient cooling in a variety of medical applications including mattresses, wrap pads, intravenous cooling, cooling towels and scalp cooling. Scalp cooling refrigeration/cooling control unit: a system designed to deliver cooled water to a fitted cap worn on the head during treatment in order to help reduce hair loss for oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy. Cooling cap: Thermal regulation control units. Reusable electrically conductive patient warming blankets with a Multi-function temperature control unit to help control and normothermia. Full body warming blanket for use with control unit. Passive insulating blankets (non-electric) to prevent heat loss and associated hypothermia. Active self-warming blankets — intended to keep patients warm and reduce hypothermia risk. Infant chemically activated warming mattresses. Patient warming clothing for adults and paediatrics including gowns, ponchos and jackets for use with hot air blower. Passive insulating patient warming clothing for adults and paediatrics including Leggings, head covers, wraps and gowns. Surface cooling pads provide immediate localised patient cooling, including water and gel. — general purpose probe, — œsophageal stethoscope with temperature sensor, — foley catheter with temperature sensor, — skin temperature probe, — tympanic temperature probe, — myocardial temperature probe, — non-invasive core temperature sensor, — probe interface cables and connectors.
