2294-18 Provision of Scientific Advisory and Analytical Services

Tender description

The Council requires the supplier to undertake all necessary works involved in the provision of a comprehensive scientific advisory and analytical service in respect of food, feeding stuff and fertiliser standards samples. This tender is for the analysis of samples taken under section 29 of the Food Safety Act 1990 and section 76 of the Agriculture Act 1970. To ensure compliance with the Food Law Code of Practice (England) Tenderers must be a Public Analyst with a laboratory suitably accredited for the purposes of analysing these samples and must appear on the list of official food control laboratories published on the Food Standards Agency’s website. The East Riding of Yorkshire Council has responsibility for monitoring feed entering Goole port which is a Designated Point of Entry. Therefore the Council requires the supplier to undertake the analysis of formal and informal feeds samples taken at the port within a time period that complies with statutory requirements.
