Tender description

The Met Office is heavily reliant on IT and requires a Supplier to: (a) support the existing data-cabling infrastructure and (b) perform an install, move, add and change “IMAC” service. This is primarily for the data centres and Network Equipment Rooms (NER) but will occasionally include other workspaces such as meeting rooms, conference rooms or training facilities across the Exeter estate. Provision of an “IMAC” service for our data centre IT and campus infrastructure (IT equipment, LAN and PABX data/signal cabling) across our Exeter estate. Routine activities associated with scheduling of IT infrastructure installation, de-installation, relocation and testing data/signal cabling. The Exeter estate consists of a headquarters (HQ) complex and a data centre with office building at Exeter Science Park. — Met Office Headquarters, Fitzroy Road, Exeter, EX1 3PB, — Met Office Exeter Science Park, Upper Richardson Road, Exeter EX5 2FS. The Exeter HQ campus consists of a headquarters office, 2 data centres (IT Hall 1 and 2), 10 NERs, a training radar building, a satellite enclosure, an instrument enclosure, college training rooms and conference facilities. At the Exeter Science Park, there is a data centre building (IT Hall 3 and 4) and the Collaboration Building. The Collaboration Building is used for accommodating teams of Met Office and partner organisations along with a conference facility. The IT Halls accommodate a wide range of IT equipment from PCs, servers, network devices through to larger and more complex systems such as mainframe, storage systems and High-Performance Computers (HPC).
