Refuse recycling services

Tender description

The contract is for the pick up and recycling of waste mattresses of all types collected by the Council and stored at its Millfields Depot, London E5. The contract will deliver a mattress recycling service to collect, haul and recycle all mattress waste created in Hackney over a four year period. An estimated 96 641 mattresses (of all sizes and type) will be collected from Millfields Road Depot (E5 0AR) and recycled over the 4-year contract duration, with an average of 1901 mattresses requiring collection and processing per month in the first year (estimated quantities are based on current levels plus growth and therefore are not guaranteed). At least 80 % by weight of all material collected shall be recycled, with no more than 20 % being disposed of via landfill or incineration. All legal documentation such as licenses and transfer notes will be presented as required and performance reports will be submitted on a monthly basis.
