National Grid Gas (NGG) is looking to engage the market for a fitting that can be applied to high-pressure gas pipeline under live gas conditions, which allows for the attachment of equipment for tasks such as drilling for new offtake connections or for drilling and flow stopping activities. National Grid Gas (NGG) is looking to engage the market for a fitting that can be applied to high-pressure gas pipeline under live gas conditions, which allows for the attachment of equipment for tasks such as drilling for new offtake connections or for drilling and flow stopping activities. NGG are currently identifying potential suppliers who are able to demonstrate competency and capability in providing such a solution. Thus, the purpose of this Periodic Indicative Notice: Non-Call for Competition is to identify suppliers through a transparent and auditable process. At a high level, the awarded tenderer will be to provide solutions to meet two key requirements: 1. A flanged fitting that wraps around a high-pressure pipeline and allows for equipment to be attached for the purpose of drilling for new offtake connections or for drilling and flow stopping activities, and; 2. A permanent non-branched fixture to be used in repair of corroded or damaged sections of pipeline, that can be applied in instances where there are bends and welds. The solution will also need to not just be a designed repair fitting, but a solution that offers strengthening of the pipe where it is applied. Both solutions need to be non-welded. Both solutions will need to meet NGG standards and specifications and be signed off by NGG as a viable solution ahead of being used on the transmission network. The awarded tenderer will be required to design, source and test the solutions, but installation and potentially manufacture may not be required as standard. National Grid will be reviewing potentially eligible suppliers and pre-qualifying them to receive an Additional Questionnaire (AQ). If you believe you may be capable and are interested in being considered, please ensure you are registered with Verify B2 registration on the Achilles Utilities Registration Database. Please ensure your registration allows you to provide the required services in the UK. It is a mandatory pre-condition of any Contract Award for a supplier to be Verified to level B2 on Achilles. It is therefore recommended that tenderers begin the registration process ASAP if they are successful in getting through to the Request For Proposal (RFP) stage, as Achilles typically requires 3 months' notice to carry out the registration process.
