The University of Bergen intends to enter into a contract with Rockland Scientific International Inc. for the procurement of a full ocean-depth profiling system for measurement of turbulence microstructure at depths rating 6 000 metres. At these depths it is vital for the quality of data that the probe can operate freely without a cable connection to a vessel, as this will generate vibrations and unnatural turbulence. The probe must therefore be able to carry out internal data acquisitions The University of Bergen has investigated the market for alternative tenderers who can deliver the requested probes. We found that only one supplier is able to deliver cable free turbulence probes with pressure tolerance at depths rating 6 000 metres. The provision for signing a contract is thereby considered to be met. The notice is published in accordance with the Public Procurement Regulations § 21-5 II.2.11)
