Tender description

Northumberland County Council have created a framework for housing and support services for vulnerable young people aged 16-25. The aim is to prevent youth homelessness and provide a planned pathway to independent living. Lot 3 was not awarded due to a change in the Authority's requirements. This lot will provide those ready to leave care settings or those at risk with a safe and supported environment and the opportunity to develop necessary skills for a successful and independent life. Supported lodgings will provide young people with a room in a home environment and the support and guidance of an adult or adults living there. This lot will provide accommodation and support for young people who are at significant risk or who are homeless and will consist of individual rooms/flats with shared communal kitchen, bathroom and living room in an accommodation black, which will be fully furnished and well-appointed with a schedule of maintenance to ensure the quality of accommodation. The service will provide intensive support to prepare the young person for independent living and to access education and training. The Authority has established a framework that will enable access to accommodation with an appropriate level of support. This lot will provide floating support to help young people to understand what it means to live independently and support them in achieving this. This may include support with housing issues, help with budgeting, education and training, debt advice, health advice or other areas as needed.
