Tender description

The BBC has a requirement to appoint a number of providers to a framework agreement for the provision of Apprenticeship Schemes Phase Three and associated Continuous Professional Development Training. These Apprenticeship Scheme(s) require the Providers to teach, support, assess and award to an agreed curriculum. The Providers shall deliver apprenticeship standards in order to grow the talent of the UK media industry and support future skillset needs across the BBC. In addition the BBC will also require successful applicants to offer additional non-apprenticeship Continuous Professional Development Training for BBC staff for all lots apart from Lot 1. CPD Pathways will offer short, structured and accredited courses derived from the certificate, diploma and degree elements of the apprenticeship. User-elected CPD provides individual classes or modules from the curriculum and allows BBC staff and their managers the freedom to complete modules as and when required. For Lot 1: A Marketing Executive will help shape, support and deliver marketing plans, working in conjunction with the Marketing Manager who will define the overall marketing strategy. A highly audience focused role which requires creativity, communication and project management skills - these individuals are responsible for planning and executing tactical and targeted marketing activity. The estimated minimum value of the Framework is 38 400 GBP and the estimated maximum value is set out in Section 2.2.6 below. Lot 2 Data Scientists find information in diverse datasets to address complex problems and improve organisational processes. They are inquisitive, they explore and visualise data of all kinds, find and present ‘stories’ within the data in a meaningful way to a range of technical and non-technical audiences. They make recommendations to inform strategic and operational decision making through sourcing, accessing and manipulating data, and engineering data processes For Lot 2 the estimated minimum value of the Framework is 395 300 GBP and the estimated maximum value is set out in Section 2.2.6 below. Lot 3a A software engineering specialist architects, develops and delivers complex software solutions from agreed specifications using contemporary standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result. They lead the design and development of bespoke secure and scalable software solutions and services for distributed web, mobile and fixed PC and mainframe platforms throughout the development lifecycle. They work across different platforms and develop software using programming languages appropriate to the applications being developed. For Lot 3a the estimated minimum value of the Framework is 874 800 GBP and the estimated maximum value is set out in Section 2.2.6 below Lot 3b A data analytics specialist investigates business data requirements, and applies data selection, data curation, data quality assurance and data investigation and engineering techniques. This will help the business to most effectively organise their data and they will provide advice and guidance to database designers and others in using the data structures and associated data components efficiently. They will undertake data processing to produce data sets for study and will perform investigations using techniques including machine learning to reveal new business opportunities. They also present data and investigation results along with compelling business opportunities reports to senior stakeholders. For Lot 3b the estimated minimum value of the Framework is 471 600 GBP and the estimated maximum value is set out in Section 2.2.6 below Lot 3c A digital business and enterprise systems architecture specialist designs, documents and maintains technical architectures that describes the best approach to provision the business technical infrastructure. This typically involves the interpretation of business goals and drivers into an operating model and the description of inter-relationships between the people, organisation, processes, data, and technology with the external environment. They implement an information technology systems architecture to support or accomplish the strategy of the enterprise. For Lot 3c the estimated minimum value of the Framework is 471 600 GBP and the estimated maximum value is set out in Section 2.2.6 below An IT strategy specialist drives the development and implementation of IT strategy by providing consultative advice and guidance to IT managers and stakeholders to help transform their operating model through the delivery of technology based change initiatives. They define, deliver, and support strategic plans for implementing information technologies. They build the case for change and drive support from senior management. They identify opportunities for, and manage the delivery of, system rationalisation and system integration programmes. For Lot 3d the estimated minimum value of the Framework is 337 200 GBP and the estimated maximum value is set out in Section 2.2.6 below Lot 3e A cyber security technical specialist provides advice and guidance on the application and operation of elementary physical, procedural and technical security controls. They co-ordinate and perform security vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for networked information systems. They deliver objective insights into the existence of vulnerabilities reporting on the effectiveness of defences, countermeasures and mitigating controls and identifying issues to resolve. They conduct treat intelligence analysis to keep up to date with the changing threat landscape. They identify and correlate actionable security events and perform forensic analysis to identify possible breaches and preserve evidence. For Lot 3e the estimated minimum value of the Framework is ... GBP and the estimated maximum value is set out in Section 2.2.6 below. Lot 3f The IT/digital futures management specialist manages the resources required to plan for, develop, deliver and support digital services and products to meet the digital workplace needs of a business. They design the digital workplace architecture, develop business case proposals and perform horizon scanning to apply foresight processes to identify and select new digital technologies that improve digital workplace efficiency and offer new and improved web, cloud or mobile technology enabled digital products and services. They contribute to improved business performance through reducing overall financial costs and increasing sustainability, developing continual service improvement plans to ensure the digital workplace adequately supports business needs For Lot 3f the estimated minimum value of the Framework is ... GBP and the estimated maximum value is set out in Section 2.2.6 below Lot 4 An engineering business manager provides both project and technical leadership for engineering and manufacturing operations. The role focuses on achieving project objectives within the cost, schedule and quality targets providing. It covers technical oversight, project execution, production support and customer interfacing throughout the full engineering lifecycle of the project (new product phase through the design, verification, qualification and introduction to manufacturing and/or post design service projects involving customer support and life extension/surveillance programs) ensuring active risk management, real time problem resolution and work package management are undertaken. For Lot 4 the estimated minimum value of the Framework is ... GBP and the estimated maximum value is set out in Section 2.2.6 below A leader is someone who has senior management responsibility, and this can include formal governance/director responsibilities. They are responsible for direction and vision, providing a clear sense of purpose and driving strategic intent. They take into account market trends and environmental influences, identifying longer-term opportunities and risks. Through inclusive leadership, they are responsible for developing ethical, innovative and supportive cultures with the ability to deliver results. For Lot 5 the estimated minimum value of the Framework is ... GBP and the estimated maximum value is set out in Section 2.2.6 below Project managers are responsible to the project sponsor/owner for the end-to-end delivery of a project or a subset of a project dependent on the complexity and criticality to the business. They have responsibility for delivering the project in line with defined objectives, taking decisions to manage stakeholder expectations by leading a multi-skilled, cross-disciplinary team to deliver the project to time, cost and quality requirements. Using their unique knowledge, skills and leadership behaviours project managers will manage the social, legal and environmental implications of their project. For Lot 6 the estimated minimum value of the Framework is 414 400 GBP and the estimated maximum value is set out in Section 2.2.6 below
