Tender description

The aim of this procurement process is for Aberystwyth Luminescence Research Laboratory to invest in its equipment base in order to maintain its world leading status in the field of the application of luminescence dating to Quaternary sediments and the study of luminescence processes in naturally occurring minerals. Equipment is required to enhance our existing provision. The Aberystwyth Luminescence Research Laboratory is currently equipped with 8 automated luminescence readers (three of which are equipped with single grain units, and one of which has an automated filter changer) and a beta counter manufactured by Risø/DTU NuTech, a manual IRSL measurement system, a stand-alone beta irradiator, and a suite of 5 thick-source alpha counters manufactured by Daybreak, and two portable gamma spectrometers and one laboratory gamma spectrometer from Ametek.
