Tender description

The NHS Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Screening Programme https://www.gov.uk/topic/population-screening-programmes/sickle-cell-thalassaemia was set up in 2001 to implement antenatal screening for sickle cell and thalassaemia and newborn screening for sickle cell disease. The national screening team in Public Health England (PHE Screening) provides expert advice and support to NHS Screening Programme. It does those things which make sense to do once rather than by each individual screening service. This includes: - developing and monitoring standards - producing public information leaflets - quality assurance of local screening services - enabling accessible training and education
