Tender description
Norfolk County Council has made a commitment to promoting independence for vulnerable adults. Learning Disability is a key area to promote independence and deliver better outcomes for individuals in addition to delivering savings. This commitment will be delivered through the co-produced Learning Disabilities Strategy: My Life, My Ambition, My Future 2018-2022. The key messages from the strategy related to day opportunities are: — to maximise peoples opportunities and promote their independence, — to enable people to feel part of their local community by supporting them to access local resources and activities, — to ensure there is access and genuine opportunities to employment and work activity, — to develop a mixed economy of provision and opportunities that meet the range of needs. Norfolk County Council intends to establish a new Framework Agreement for providers of day opportunities for those with learning difficulties. The Council is seeking to implement a new service model informed by the Learning Disabilities Strategy with new contracts. The new service model contains 3 pathways: — promoting wellbeing pathway, — promoting independence pathway, — skills and employment pathway. It is likely that the procurement will be split into lots — one for each pathway and bidders will be able to apply for more than one lot. However, that decision will only be made after consultation with the market. The Council spends approximately 14 800 000 GBP per year on day opportunities for those with learning disabilities. Norfolk County Council would like to meet with providers to discuss this opportunity and obtain feedback. The Council is holding engagement events the week commencing 7th January. The dates are: Monday 7 January — South Norfolk Tuesday 8 January — North Norfolk Wednesday 9 January — East Norfolk Thursday 10 January — Norwich Friday 11 January — West Norfolk If you are interested please contact the Council by registering on in-tend and expressing an interest in project NCCF41680 Framework Agreement for Learning Disability Day Opportunities.
