Tender description

The aim of this request for tender is to engage a high quality Contracted Health & Safety Service to assist the EPA to get its staff and those involved with its activities home safely each evening. The EPA safety, health and welfare structures are centrally co-ordinated from its Headquarters in Wexford by a Board Sub-committee for Safety, Health and Welfare and supported by a full-time Health and Safety Officer together with a network of Safety Advisors. These Office Safety Advisors provide advice to colleagues on a part time basis in addition to their normal day to day work. The EPA is at present in the process of embedding an improved Safety Management System (SMS) that is aligned to the core principals of the OHSAS 18001 standard. In order to support this new system, the EPA is in the process of finalising the requirements for and moving to begin procurement of an ICT system to support the efficient use of the SMS. The work to be delivered under this contract is focused on supporting staff and managers in embedding and continually developing the EPAs SMS while allowing the Health and Safety Officer scope to procure, deliver and implement an ICT solution to support the SMS. Tender proposals are sought from organisations with established expertise, experience and capacity to provide quality, efficient and effective Health and Safety support services as outlined in Section 5.1 Specification of Requirements.
