Tender description

Berry Hill Quarry has been developed for housing and over time some of the quarry faces have partially eroded resulting in some significant land slippages in close proximity to the curtilages of dwellings at the base of the quarry face. The open space land above the quarry face is predominantly in the Council’s ownership and some areas of the quarry face itself are in the ownership of both the Council and deeds of the dwellings. As the Council owns the land above the quarry face and parts of the quarry face it is considered that the land at the base of cliff, within a defined buffer zone, should also be acquired from local residents to facilitate the implementation of an engineering solution and the long term maintenance of the quarry face.
