Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), invites suitably capable infrastructure providers to attend a market engagement event. The GMCA is exploring options for the installation and maintenance of full fibre network (layer 1) circuits allowing for a minimum of 1Gbps (gigabits per second) connectivity to public sector sites across the Greater Manchester City Region. The event will assist Greater Manchester in developing the business case, with a view to undertaking a procurement exercise later this year, should a viable business case be identified. The GMCA reserves the right not to proceed with a procurement exercise if a viable proposition is not identified. The Supplier Market Engagement Event for the provision of Gigabit Dark Fibre Networks in Greater Manchester will take place before the end of April 2018. Interested bidders need to confirm their interest via the CHEST portal https://www.the-chest.org.uk/ before 15th March.
