Tender description

NHS Gloucestershire CCG (GCCG) wishes to commission a community urology service to manage conditions that do not require specialist intervention at secondary level. This will enable improved patient flow through urology services and support the management of an increasing demand for acute services. GCCG is looking for suitably qualified and experienced providers to continue with the provision and development of a range of high quality services which are currently delivered in the community setting. The service will offer assessment and treatments at clinics at several locations in the county under the care of a consultant-led team. It will also include the provision of minor surgical procedures. Total contract value is estimated to be in the following range 2 250 000 GBP — 2 700 000 GBP per annum. Urology is a speciality specifically identified by the Department of Health (DH) as being suitable for the relocation of a large proportion of work from secondary to primary care under the ‘Shifting Care Closer to Home’ Policy. Urological problems are common and create a significant burden of work for primary care. The community urology service was commissioned to offer a single point of referral for all urology referrals for Gloucestershire patients. NHS Gloucestershire CCG (GCCG) wishes to re-commission a community urology service to manage conditions that do not require specialist intervention at secondary level. This will enable improved patient flow through urology services and support the management of an increasing demand for acute services. The current contract is due to expire at the end of September 2018. GCCG is looking for suitably qualified and experienced providers to continue with the provision and development of a range of high quality services which are currently delivered in the community setting. The service will offer assessment and treatments at clinics at several locations in the county under the care of a consultant-led team.
