Tender description

UKAEA require the supply, installation and ongoing maintenance of a tension-compression materials test rig. This rig must provide the following parameters: a. Frame: The load frame must consist of two columns so that the system can be adapted with an environmental chamber in the future. b. Testing regimes: The system must allow static, monotonic testing and programmable cycling capability. c. Max load (tension): The maximum load must be 5 kN or greater, but with strong control and accuracy at low forces. Load cells will have a 16-bit resolution. Load cells (and any switchable load ranges) will be calibrated to EN ISO 7500-1 standard. d. Cyclic testing and frequency: The system must be capable of tension-tension, compression-compression and tension-compression cyclic testing. At 1 Hz the system must be capable of 2 mm displacement. e. Analogue outputs: There must be 2 or more 0-10 V analogue outputs for load and displacement. f. Analogue inputs: There must be one or more analogue 0-10 V input for extensometry. Please see the attached document for the full requirements of this rig. This contract will be awarded under the NEC3 supply contract. The proposed contract date for this is also attached.
