Tender description

The London Borough of Newham wishes to procure Shared Lives provision for vulnerable adults who are eligible for adult social care and housing support. This procurement will take place next year with a contract notice expected in early 2019. The new contract will commence in June 2019. Shared Lives Service will provide: — personalised long-term accommodation and support for those requiring long-term care or a stepping stone accommodation for someone moving towards independent living, — short-term respite services or home from hospital care for those that are eligible for adult social care, or for those that self-fund their care and support, and in order to support carers in their caring role, — day support services to promote social inclusion. The proposed outcomes for customers of Shared Lives Services are: — people are regularly enabled to set and revise personal goals and have clear action plans for achieving them, — people have many opportunities to take part in meaningful activities, education, volunteering and paid employment, — people are supported to progress to more independent living, or stay put, as they prefer, and support plans are reviewed regularly, —— the service looks for opportunities to continuously develop and improve the service offer, responding to the need and demand of Newham residents and the people it supports, — people have a clear voice in the development of the service and their care, being supported to access independent advocacy where appropriate. Shared Lives carers are supported in their role and receive ongoing training, development, support and guidance and are provided with the opportunity to input into the development of the service.
