Summary of the work The Network Design role is required to create and where applicable update logical Network design documentation for a deployed capability. Specialist role Content designer Expected Contract Length 22 weeks (up to 31 March 2019) with a 6 week unfunded option. Latest start date Thursday 1 November 2018 Maximum Day Rate £500 per day worked (8 hours). Anticipated travel to MOD Abbey Wood at least 2 days per month to be included within this rate. Early Market Engagement N/A Who Speclialist Work With The Network design role holder will report to and will be directed, on a daily basis, by the appointed Project Manager for the creation, maintenance and configuration control of deployed technical documentation. What Specialists Work On - Router and Switch Configuration, generating config file templates, deployed specific config files, and work instructions. - Updates to existing Deployed Network LLD where required. - Advise on content of network hardware support/repair Work Instructions (feeding into HW Configuration and Tech Author resource). Skills & Experience • Must have knowledge of: • OSPF. • DMVPN. • IPSec. • Wireless AP. • Cellular. • SNMP. • AAA. • DHCP, specifically configuration of options. Nice to Haves • 1. Should have knowledge of: • Multicast. • Device hardening/Security principles. • Route Redistribution techniques. • Route summarisation. • 2. Could have knowledge of: • Modular QoS CLI. • Embedded Event Manager. • Python programming language. • 3. Previous experience in system administration. • 4. Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. Work Location Hereford Working Arrangments 40 hrs (8hrs Mon - Fri). This role will be based at the West Midlands site with anticipated travel to MOD Abbey Wood at least 2 times per Month to attend meetings with the Delivery Team. No expenses are payable as this travel is expected to be inclusive within the daily rate. Security Clearance MOD DV required on day 1 of the appointment due to the sensitivity of the role.
