Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are looking for suppliers who are able to support the Trust in treating our patients via the use of peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC). Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are looking for suppliers who are able to support the Trust in treating our patients via the use of peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC). We are looking for equipment with the following considerations and capabilities. The use of a magnetic navigation tracking facility guarantees “real-time” accurate placement of the PICC line catheter tip in the superior vena cava. This significantly reduces the need for repositioning or re-insertion of the catheter and enables prompt commencement of therapies. The device should incorporate a facility to track the location of the PICC line and confirm the correct placement of the tip with ECG. It needs to be sufficiently portable to enable the practitioner to safely carry it around the hospital and across sites to the patient’s bed side and manoeuvre it within restricted clinical environments.
