Tender description

The Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government (DHPLG) is inviting tenders to submit a Tender for the Contract award of “ICT Infrastructure and Modernisation Project with Managed Service”. The main project requirements include: — replace the ICT Infrastructure including the storage, security and network equipment for the Department, — build the infrastructure in Revenue datacentre, St Johns Rd. Dublin 8, — build a DR site in location that is ISO 27001 data centre complaint infrastructure within Central Government organisation, — migrate all data from the Department to the new infrastructure, — build the network to support same (https://ictstrategy.per.gov.ie/ictstrategy/buildtoshare.html), — engage a managed service to operate the helpdesk, backup service and the housekeeping tasks to monitor and maintain the new infrastructure. The Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government (DHPLG) is responsible for the implementation of housing, planning and local government policy. The Department employs approx 600 staff. The Departments primary offices are located in Dublin, Ballina, Wexford, and Shannon. There is 3 remote offices located in Co. Cork (1) Little Island (2) South Mall (3) Mahon. Tenderers should note that the Contracting Authority fully supports the Public Service ICT strategy which can be accessed at http://ictstrategy.per.gov.ie/ Inline with government policy and the ICT strategy for the public sector, “Delivering better outcomes and efficiency through innovation and excellence in ICT”, it is envisaged that this infrastructure will be housed in the government datacentre provided by the Revenue Commissioners at St John’s Road, Dublin 8. The Department will migrate all of its data to the newly deployed infrastructure with a managed service for maintenance of same and 24*7 perimeter monitoring and protection. The main objectives of this project are: — a full refresh the infrastructure which will be end of life. — to remove some of the routine tasks from responsibility of ICT staff to a managed service, — to engage 24*7 monitoring of security and perimeters for systems, — to achieve ISO 27001 standard, — to have a robust reliable ICT Infrastructure, — Build in scalability, — inline with Government ICT Strategy, — to future proof insofar as is possible in ICT for next three-five years.
