Tender description

North Tyneside Council currently provides a Catering Service to almost all schools in the Metropolitan Borough of North Tyneside, some externally Contracted schools outside of the Borough whilst within the North East region together with several other civic and social units. Within schools in particular the service is provided from kitchens of varying ages and sizes and with a broad range of catering equipment including heavy equipment North Tyneside Council is seeking suppliers to sit on a small framework of 3 successful contractors who can provide and fit the range of heavy catering equipment that the council from time-to-time require. North Tyneside Council currently provides a Catering Service to almost all schools in the Metropolitan Borough of North Tyneside, some externally Contracted schools outside of the Borough whilst within the North East region together with several other civic and social units. Within schools in particular the service is provided from kitchens of varying ages and sizes and with a broad range of Catering equipment including heavy equipment. The Council is seeking suppliers to sit on a small framework of 3 successful Contractors who can provide and fit the range of heavy catering equipment that the council from time-to-time require. Once contractors are selected to be on the framework, it is intended that contractors are in the first instance ranked by those providing the most economically advantageous initial bids. The Contractor Ranked number 1 will supply all “Core” items with those ranked 2 and 3 being approached if: A) Contractor 1 cannot supply; B) a quotation exercise is required for something which may be more bespoke in nature; or C) for benchmarking and Value for Money assurance purposes. Thereafter the Council shall select from the framework at its discretion as described further in the tender documents.
