Tender description

The University is looking to appoint up to four asbestos consultancies on a Framework Agreement basis to provide air monitoring, surveying services and specification production in compliance with HSE guidance documents such as HSG 248 “The Analysts Guide", HSG 264 “The Survey Guide" and the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. All consultancies appointed to the framework will be utilised to undertake work as per the specified services. The University has a diverse property portfolio ranging in age, some of which contain asbestos products and as such is responsible for managing those asbestos containing materials. The University have over 40 properties within its portfolio which were constructed prior to the 1999 ban on the use of asbestos in the UK. The University is looking to appoint up to 4 asbestos consultancies on a Framework Agreement basis to provide air monitoring, surveying services and specification production in compliance with HSE guidance documents such as HSG 248 “The Analysts Guide", HSG 264 “The Survey Guide" and the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. All consultancies appointed to the framework will be utilised to undertake work as per the specified services. Management surveys and re-inspections will be divided into lots and shared amongst the appointed consultants. Re-inspection frequencies are risk based and therefore schedules may vary. However the majority will be required on an annual basis and re-inspection programmes will typically be in line with this. Refurbishment and demolition surveys, and the production of specifications, will be required when project work is undertaken. Asbestos works associated with projects will be allocated on a rotational basis.
