Tender description

South Tyneside Homes is seeking Expressions of Interest from Companies who may be interested in delivering the Weed Treatment Service within the borough of South Tyneside for a 2 year period commencing March / April 2019, with the potential to increase this to 3 years. The treatment, which will be delivered over 2 tranches each year, will involve applying a recognised Herbicide to the weeds on the footpaths, Gutters, walkways and Back lanes within South Tyneside. Depending on the weather conditions it may be necessary to deliver a 3rd tranche however that will be discussed if and when it is required. It will be necessary to complete each treatment over an 8 week Period and this would involve utilising Quad Bikes and Knapsack sprayers’ the chemicals used must be approved by DEFRA and all involved within this service must have the necessary up to date training, qualifications, licences and experience. The treatment must take place during dry days throughout the summer with the 1st tranche commencing March /April and the 2nd Tranche taking place June/ July depending on the weather and the weed growth.
