Tender description

A separate DS3 system services agreement has been awarded for both EirGrid (as contracting entity for the agreement applicable to Ireland) and SONI (as contracting entity for the agreement applicable to Northern Ireland). The services are split into lots for each of the TSOs as follows: — Lots 12IE relates to the system service required by EirGrid, — Lots 12NI relates to the system service required by SONI. Fast Frequency Response (FFR) is the additional MW Output or MW Reduction required compared to the pre-incident MW Output or MW Reduction, which is fully available from a providing unit within 2 seconds after the start of an Event and sustainable up to 10 seconds after the start of the Event. The extra energy provided in the 2 to 10 second timeframe must be greater than any loss of energy in the 10 to 20 second timeframe due to a reduction in MW Output or MW Reduction below the pre-incident MW Output or MW Reduction.
