Translink, comprising of Northern Ireland Railways, Metro, and Ulsterbus is the all-embracing title for the integrated public transport operations in Northern Ireland. The purchasing department is part of the finance division. The department performs a central core purchasing and a purchase ledger (invoice processing) function for the Translink Group. The terms “Translink”, “Translink Group” and “Group” are deemed to be interchangeable in the documents relating to this procurement and for the avoidance of doubt each means the Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company and all of its subsidiary companies including: — Citybus Ltd, — Flexibus Ltd, — NIR Travel Ltd, — Northern Ireland Railways Company Ltd, — Travel NI Ltd, — Translink NI Ltd, and — Ulsterbus Ltd. This notice is to initiate an early market engagement exercise. It does not indicate the start of any formal procurement exercise. Separate specific OJEU procurement exercises will be advertised at the appropriate point in the future. Parties with whom discussions may have been held will be required to submit their applications to be involved in the respective procurement(s) in the normal manner. Translink wishes to engage with the market to seek out expertise and conduct market/product research to ensure that the best possible offer is presented to the market place. Translink intends to engage with the market during December 2018 and January 2019 and publish a related competition early 2019.
