On behalf of the LDLs, the British Library invites potential vendors to provide information as well as propose options and business solutions for the provision of a secure access solution for collection items acquired the NPLD Regulations. This RFI is intended to identify possible solutions that will meet the LDLs’ requirements for secure access over the course of the next decade. The British Library is currently within a period of significant change to its core infrastructure. At present, its digital repository architecture utilizes a custom-built digital library system and metadata repository storing over 700 TB of content, with new ingest rates of approximately 1.5 TB per day. These are anticipated to grow to 5-10TB per day over the next few years with the aid of a new repository solution. Collection items and metadata held in these systems must persist and grow despite changes in the surrounding technical landscape.
