Tender description
Purpose of sensor deployment: to increase the spatial coverage of weather parameters within the area covered by our X-Band weather radar (36 and 108 km radius from Claremont tower, Newcastle University; http://uoweb3.ncl.ac.uk/radar/). These instruments will be used to calibrate the radar as part of a research project, Flood prepared (https://www.ncl.ac.uk/engineering/research/civil/water/projects/flood-prepared.html) and will be sited at various locations in and out of the city. We are looking to purchase up to 10 Automatic weather stations (AWS) and up to 20 telemetered Tipping Bucket Rain Gauges (TBR). The scope is for the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the equipment as detailed in the ITT document, with after sales support, a minimum 12 months parts and labour warranty and maintenance. This requirement is only being advertised to the Weather Sensors Lot of (NU/1195) Newcastle University Urban Observatory Sensors Dynamic Purchasing System.
