This is a Prior Information Notice (PIN) for information only. It is not a formal invitation to tender. You will need to respond to the contract notice once it has been published (for 1819-0029 – The operation, delivery and facilities management of Islington’s adventure playgrounds and any associated contracts). It is anticipated any contract notice/s will be published towards the end of February 2019. The purpose of the PIN is to maximise transparency and competition for any upcoming contract notice/s. All details in this PIN are subject to being updated or changed in any final contract notice/s. This is a Prior Information Notice (PIN) for information only. It is not a formal invitation to tender. Islington Council is looking to procure organisation/s to operate, deliver and effectively manage the facilities of its 12 adventure playgrounds from October 2019. This includes high quality playwork delivery for children aged 5/6 and up during term time and school holidays, at times and days that suit children and families’ needs. The offer will contribute to both informal and formal childcare opportunities in Islington, as well as provide inclusive earliest help for children and families through high quality playwork that is embedded within local communities. Adventure play will contribute to the positive physical and mental health of children and young people, with clear pathways into other services that may benefit families across the borough. The council is seeking to secure the best quality play services as well as best value for money through consideration of a range of contract structures, volumes and timescales, which may be different from those which currently exist. Providers who may have an interest in such a contract or contracts will wish to ensure that they are best able to respond through their management, governance and partnership arrangements. Providers may wish to consider partnership arrangements, particularly where they consider that these would facilitate the efficient delivery of contracts of a larger scale, value and/or length.
