Tender description

1.1 The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is part of the National Monuments Service (NMS), Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. It is engaged in a descriptive survey of the archaeological monuments of the State. This information is housed in the ASI’s Archive and is used to update the Sites and Monuments Record (SMR) and the Record of Monument and Places (RMP), for dissemination on the National Monuments website www.archaeology.ie and in the production of publications. All are essential tools for the protection of the State’s archaeological heritage. This public procurement project relates to the provision of archaeological inventory site summaries and typescript entries for 1,287 no. SMR files relating to Co Westmeath
