Tender description

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust intend to establish a comprehensive offsite sterile services contract, for the ongoing decontamination of reusable surgical instruments. The overall objective is to secure the provision of an efficient sterile services provider which achieve the national policy for compliance with all of the latest and future quality and legislative standards, at a competitive and cost effective price, enabling the Trust to service their current and planned or unplanned growth requirements. The Trust would like to engage in discussions regarding collaboration with Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Currently, the Trust undertakes surgical procedures across sites in St Helier, Epsom and the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre, all serviced from an onsite provision. This Prior Information Notice is to invite potential partners to engage in early engagement regarding sterilisation services at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals Trust. The Trust will be seeking a suitable supplier to deliver a currently outsourced onsite facility to an offsite provision. The current facility is hosted onsite at Epsom General Hospital, which services the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC), St Helier Hospital and other units. The overall objective is to secure the provision of a sterile services provider which will achieve industry best practice, compliance with all of the latest and future quality and legislative standards. Epsom and St Helier University Hospital NHS Trust are also interested in exploring the opportunity to collaborate with Kingston Hospital NHS Trust as a potential option. The supplier is expected to maintain a fully reliable logistically enabled decontamination service to the Trust's two main sites and other local outreach sites where required. This should encompass the current and planned/unplanned growth potentially for the next 10-15 years. The scope of the contract will be standard sterilisation services and may include options for other related decontamination services in the future, such as endoscope decontamination and instrument repairs. The Trust would like to use this PIN to engage in discussions regarding collaboration with Kingston NHS Foundation Trust. An expression of interest in this market engagement exercise will not automatically entitle involvement in any future procurement exercise. The subsequent procurement will be advertised separately and all organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the procurement advertisement when published. Please note that this is not a Selection Questionnaire (SQ), we are using the functionality within the procurement portal to communicate with interested parties.
