Tender description

The City and County of Swansea (“the Council”) invites tenders for the purpose of establishing a Framework Agreement for certain Goods (“the Goods”), more particularly described in the Specification. The Council’s intention is to enter into a Framework Agreement split into five (5) lots. Details of each lot are as follows: Lot 1: Foam Mattress; Lot 2: Overlay Mattress; Lot 3: Full Replacement Mattress; Lot 4: Bariatric Full Replacement Mattress; Lot 5: Hybrid Mattress. The Council’s intention is to appoint one (1) supplier per lot. A high to medium risk foam mattress: with a Visco elastic top layer that can be used on profiling or standard beds. An overlay mattress is designed for the prevention and treatment of skin breakdown and pressure ulcers in patients at medium to high risk. The overlay is a layer of cushion that can be added to the top of a mattress. An overlay enhances a mattress comfort level by providing additional softness, pressure point reduction and increased circulation. A full replacement alternating pressure mattress designed for the prevention and treatment of skin breakdown and pressure ulcers in patients at high risk category with stage 1 to 4 pressure ulcers. A full replacement alternating pressure mattress designed for the prevention and treatment of skin breakdown and pressure ulcers in patients at high risk category with stage 1 to 4 pressure ulcers for users weighing up to 50 stone. A Hybrid replacement system that delivers optimal therapy of a foam mattress combined with active alternating air cells. The mattress provides both prevention and treatment of severe pressure ulcers in patients at high risk. The powered hybrid offers real benefits in terms of its ability to step up or step down care simply by adding or removing an external power. The purpose is that Patients do not have to wait for a new piece of equipment to arrive, nor do they have to be transferred to another mattress at a time when their condition has deteriorated and they may be experiencing pain or discomfort.
