KCC Disabled Children & Young Person’s Social Work Service will be holding 2 market events in respect of the service they require to support the disabled children & young people they work with. Provided under the Children Act 1989 (S)17, Children & Families Act 2014 and Short Breaks for Carers of Disabled Children 2011, the service will support disabled children and young adults who have been assessed as requiring care and/or support. This is an exciting development in that it moves from the traditional models of care that has a transition at the age of 18 years to adult services to a model that has a more flexible window of opportunity to transfer to adult services based on individual need.
