Tender description

DCC is looking to appoint a Supplier to design, supply, install, commission and fully manage an outdoor Public WiFi network (to be installed on Council owned Assets) and associated services for the Dundee Waterfront area (Phase 1 and 2) and approach routes to Dundee City centre (Phase 1A). DCC is looking to appoint a Supplier to design, supply, install, commission and fully manage an outdoor Public WiFi network (to be installed on Council owned Assets) and associated services for the Dundee Waterfront area (Phase 1 and 2) and approach routes to Dundee City centre (Phase 1A). The Supplier shall also supply, install, commission and provide break/fix support of a Fibre/Duct network infrastructure to provide the required connectivity for delivery of the Public WiFi network and services, with the end to end fibre infrastructure having sufficient additional capacity and be open access to enable DCC’s wider digital ambition, including acting as a catalyst for DCC to form a consortium to bid for 5G Testbeds and Trials funding in collaboration with industry and academia. The Public WiFi service shall be in operation by 31.8.2018 (for at least Phase 1 Coverage Areas), with Phase 1A ideally operational within the same timeframe (but no later than 30th November). No specific timelines are specified for Phase 2. Bidders shall aim to deliver the Public WiFi service to Phase 2 Coverage areas as soon as possible but with Phase 1 and 1A taking priority.
