Tender description

Bridgend County Borough Council has procured and awarded a range of support services for individuals who have housing related support needs, including those who are threatened with or who are homeless. Lot 1 describes the requirements for provision of Generic Housing Related Support Services. There will be three aspects to the Generic Housing Related Support Service which the service must deliver as a minimum. These are set out below: Hub based support — crisis/reactive support: Short term intensive support to service users for up to 12 weeks. Longer term support to service users for up to 18 months. The aim of the service is to offer support services for vulnerable people, by developing innovative responses to meet increased demand and to support people, by helping them maintain their independence in the community. Lot 2 describes the requirements for provision of “Early Doors” Early Intervention and Prevention Service For Tenants In The Private Rented Sector. The service will have two clear elements and objectives: — to expand the service, developing relationships with landlords and agents, with a view to developing a support service frequently used by private rented sector landlords operating within the Bridgend borough, — to support private rented sector tenants who fall into difficulty in managing their tenancy, with the aim of preventing homelessness. This service is designed so that private sector landlords or agents acting on their behalf have access to a service where they can refer their tenants for support. In addition to providing support to service users and preventing homelessness the service will also provide support and build relationships with private sector landlords, growing a sector who often feel they have little to no support when trying to help tenants with issues maintaining a tenancy. Lot 3 describes the requirements for provision of Support Service for Young People and Adults leaving the Secure Estate. There will be 2 aspects to the Support Service for Young Persons and Adults Leaving the Secure Estate, which are set out below: — service to work alongside and improve the Prisoner Pathway, — support service users for up to 6 months on release from custody. This service is designed to specifically support individuals released from the secure estate with housing related issues, including those who are threatened with homelessness and those released with no fixed abode. The service is also designed to improve the implementation of the National Pathway for homelessness services to children, young people and adults in the secure estate (Prisoner Pathway).
