Summary of the work A Commodity Cloud Oracle specialist is required to lead the design and strategy of a critical migration project. Specialist role Technical Architect Expected Contract Length 6 months with option to extend Latest start date Monday 22 October 2018 Maximum Day Rate £900 Who Speclialist Work With • Working within PPPT reporting to the Programme’s Lead Architect on design. • Will need to engage with members of the Law Enforcement Data Service (LEDS) Architecture Team, the existing Police Live Services team and with the programme’s Delivery Partners as necessary. • To deliver some of the design work, external stakeholder engagement should be expected. What Specialists Work On The specialist will define the tactical and strategic direction of a critical migration and transformation project. Skills & Experience • Demonstrable experience in technically leading strategic and tactical projects and/or programmes within the past 2 years • Demonstrable expert knowledge implementing Oracle Databases and Middleware in Commodity Cloud. • Demonstrable experience in architecting Commodity Cloud IaaS and/or PaaS solutions from the ground up within the past 2 years • Demonstrable expert knowledge of Linux, specifically Redhat within the past 2 years • Demonstrable expert knowledge of the following database technologies. Oracle, SQL & Aurora, within the past 2 years • Demonstrable expert knowledge of Oracle Service Bus • Demonstrable expert knowledge of Oracle WebLogic Nice to Haves • Demonstrable experiences working with encryption or data and network traffic • Knowledge of any scripting languages • Knowledge of Police IT Systems Work Location • Primary location: Hendon Datacentre • Other London sites.Coydon/2MS Working Arrangments Some remote working is acceptable, supported by a HO laptop to enable collaboration and sensitive material to be exchanged. Some meetings can be by conference call, but significant design meetings are expected to be face-to-face at a HO location or partner visit. Existing Subject Matter Experts located in Croydon or Hendon will provide most of the information on the architectures and requirements.
