Tender description

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) Southern Division are advancing the design and development of a new strategic road link in Northern Ireland to the south of Newry, between the A1 Dublin Road dual carriageway and A2 Warrenpoint Road dual carriageway. Construction and Procurement Delivery (CPD), acting as the Central Purchasing Body, is administering a procurement exercise on behalf of DfI to appoint an Economic Operator (EO) to undertake ground investigation works to inform the design of the new link road's preferred route. GI works will be required on land and over water to facilitate road, pier and bridge design to include, but not be limited to: — 27 over land boreholes, — 4 over water boreholes, — 41 trial pits, — 3 CPT tests, — 4 window samples, — post-site monitoring, — laboratory testing and factual reporting. The Contract will be awarded on the basis of the MEAT using the mean narrow average price scoring mechanism as detailed in draft ITT Doc 1.
