Tender description

Thames Water are looking to appoint the most suitable contractor(s) for provision of design and build construction services for Counters Creek Flood Alleviation Scheme-AMP6-Phase 2. The Counters Creek Flood Alleviation Scheme — Phase 2 AMP 6 comprises: — the installation of FLIP devices: A FLIP device is a small self-contained pumping unit normally installed to pump all the flows from domestic properties into the main sewer. The number of properties to be protected by FLIP devices is not yet identified, but is likely to be between 200 and 400), — a number of small sewerage schemes (approximately 8-10 number). These include sewer upsizing, small pumping stations and storage and interception chambers mainly located in highways. Some SUDs (Sustainable Urban Drainage systems) may also be required like construction of permeable surfaces, storage and provision of water butts. The small sewerage schemes will be implemented where these are more viable than installation of a large number of FLIP devices in one road or where a FLIP device is not suitable (for example for a large building with a large impermeable area).
