Provision of a review of current ONR guidance on management of ageing and degradation of SSCS

Tender description

A full and comprehensive understanding of the ageing effects on SSCs important to nuclear safety are the subject of many codes, standards and good practice guides used across high haard industries, including nuclear, as well as significant research investments. The basis of this project is to review current ONR guidance in the form of Safety Assessment Principles (SAPs) against established codes, regulations, codes of practice and best practice. The project outcome may influence ONR's basis of reference and understanding of ageing management practices, which may impact regulatory expectations on duty holders in addressing the risks posed by ageing of structures, systems and components important to safety through establishing suitable predictive, monitoring and management activities relevant to the lifecycle, as well as deploying counter measures for the most prevalent and consequential challenges.
