NHS Salford Clinical Commissioning Group (“the CCG”) is currently developing its service specification and financial model in preparation for commissioning a paediatric eye health service. The CCG is undertaking market engagement in order to seek the views and opinions of those organisations that may be interested in helping to deliver the service. The CCG is undertaking market engagement in order to seek the views and opinions of those organisations that may be interested in helping to deliver the service. The purpose of this engagement is to inform the market of the CCG's intention to procure the service, and to assess the level of interest from capable providers who may be interested in delivering a full Paediatric Eye Health Service in Salford in the near future. It is possible that this potential contract opportunity may be subject to a competitive procurement process to enable the CCG to identify the most suitable and qualified provider(s) to deliver the service and at this stage, the CCG is only looking to gauge potential interest. Any such procurement process is likely to commence in early 2019 to enable service commencement in Autumn/Winter 2019. Responses to this Expression of Interest will be used to inform the contract approach. A lack of interest being expressed in response to this invitation, may be taken as evidence by the CCG that a competitive process is not required.
