Contract for the provision of a delivery service of cancer drugs to patients at home over a 3 year period with an option to extend for up to a further 2 periods of 12 months. The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to award a contract for the provision of treatments for cancer patients, including patients with leukaemia and lymphoma. The initial requirement under the Contract will be for the delivery of oral medication, later requirements may include (but not limited to) providing intravenous chemotherapy and other nursing services for example blood sampling. The volume of patients serviced under this contract may vary during the contract period, however it is expected that from the outset that the appointed homecare provider will be required to dispense and deliver tyrosine kinase inhibitors such as imatinib to approximately 100 patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia. It is expected, although not guaranteed, that an additional 100 patients with other forms of cancer will benefit from the contract.
