Tender description

The London Borough of Haringey is awarding contracts for Joint Advocacy services on behalf of the London Boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. The contracts are awarded for 2 lots namely: Lot 1: Independent Mental Health Advocacy; Lot 2: Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy/Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Relevant person’s (Paid) Representative (RPR) and Care Act Advocacy. This service will enable the London Boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey to meet their statutory duties under Section 43 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to make arrangements to enable “Independent Mental Health Advocates” to be available to support qualifying patients in accordance with Section 130A of the Mental Health Act (as amended). This service will provide specialist Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) to people identified as coming under the remit of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and provide IMCA services in relation to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards as set out in the amendment to the Mental Health Act 2007, in the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. The service will also provide Care Act Advocacy to support people with substantial difficulty in being involved in care and support processes to participate. The service will support adults (18 years and over) and young people in transition who are referred to 1 of the 3 local authorities as needing social care and support to meet their needs.
