Tender description

The provision of patient level income costing software. NHS Improvement’s Costing Transformation Programme aims to improve the quality of costing information across the NHS through the roll-out of a patient level cost collection supported by a new set of costing standards. Having just one cost collection based on patient level costs would reduce the burden of reporting requirements on providers and ensure they obtain increased value from cost reporting. Patient-level costing identifies the cost of care for each individual patient and has significant benefits over the reference cost approach; — the complete cost of care for each patient is understood, — patient-level data can be aggregated to any level (e.g. by service or cluster) to allow more versatile cost analysis, — variation in the cost of care can then be benchmarked against best (or better) practice. This ITT is to create a framework for patient level income costing software.
