The University of Manchester invites proposals for the servicing of its academic dress requirements, with a view to appointing a single official robe maker. The University of Manchester invites proposals for the servicing of its academic dress requirements, with a view to appointing a single official robe maker. The University currently holds approximately 60 - 70 ceremonies each year in the UK, in July and December. There are a minimum of 40 ceremonies held in July (which can potentially increase to 50) and a minimum of 20 in December (which can potentially increase to 25), on consecutive days, with a minimum of 4 ceremonies per day (which can potentially increase to 5). The total number of graduands for these ceremonies is circa 12 000. The ceremonies are currently held in the Whitworth Hall, Oxford Road Campus, Manchester. There is also a requirement for provision of academic dress to the University staff for graduation and other ceremonies/events such as special graduation ceremonies, honorary degree ceremonies and other civic events.
